Article 16 of Real Decreto 135/2021, de 2 de marzo, por el que se aprueba el Estatuto General de la Abogacía Española, regulates “legal services online or through the internet”, and in Section III requires professional lawyers to "adopt the necessary measures in order to guarantee professional secrecy and obtain sufficient proof of their client´s identity and other information that allows them to avoid conflicts of interest and to provide appropriate advice to the applicant for their services.”
